We all swooned when Bridget realised that Mr Darcy did indeed love her, just the way she was. But this sentiment needn’t stop as the credits roll.
Just for a day, practise accepting yourself and others, just the way they are. Yes, even those stubborn extra pounds, your partner’s annoying habit of leaving their clothes strewn across the floor and your mother-in-law’s insistence on overstaying her welcome.
It may feel strange at first, but in time you will discover that it’s a light relief to turn down the volume on your inner critic, there are positive attributes you had overlooked in your urgency to pick faults, and self-improvement can come from a positive mindset.
