Being Fabulous
The majority of us are not going to turn around and openly admit that we’re fabulous, being too self assured has always been seen as a negative trait and therefore it’s so much easier to deflect compliments, pushing them to one side with an immediate rebuff and a negative statement. It seems to be an inbred issue that most women have – we’re very good at being down on ourselves!
One morning, back in the summer of 2008, I was sitting in my local deli, munching on a bagel and mulling over the latest celebrity gossip in one of the weekly glossies whilst catching up with a girlfriend. We were just like every other group of ‘ladies who lunch’, discussing work, moaning about men, gossiping about our lives and generally just enjoying each other’s company. Conversation easily flitting from one topic to another in-between answering emails, text messages and phone calls. You’ve all probably experienced the same thing!
The most wonderful thing about girlfriends is that even if you haven’t seen each other for months you immediately slip back into a comfortable rapport and you know she’ll always be ‘onside’ and give you that invaluable, honest advice that you might not get elsewhere. You buoy each other up and sometimes you just need your friend to tell you you’re fabulous and you leave believing it just that little bit more than you normally would!
An hour or so later we were back at our homes/office and I realised just how much I love those quick breaks from ‘reality’ and that every time I meet up with a friend I hear about something new, discover something I wasn’t aware of and then I had my ‘light bulb’ moment…I’d like to create somewhere where everyone can dip in and out of each other’s lives, sharing and supporting in only a way that we, as women, know how.
So in January 2009 Be-Fabulous was launched!
Ultimately Be Fabulous is lifestyle portal – a place where you can inspire and be inspired, discover and be discovered and above all, to indulge…

Membership to the site is free and everyone can access the BOOK OF GEMS but as a premium member you'll receive an exclusive MEMBER CARD plus you'll unlock the 'members discount' box in our HIDDEN GEMS book allowing you access to £'s worth of savings!
Becoming a premium member is simple; once you've registered you'll have the option to upgrade. For just £24.99 a year (inc. VAT) within a week you'll receive your Be Fabulous MEMBER CARD that will entitle you to special offers, discounts and events at participating businesses and companies and immediately you'll have access to all our online offers.
Advertising
Do you run a great business or have a fabulous product that you feel other members should be aware of? As a Premium member you'll have access to our Hidden Gems advertising area where you can choose which style of advert you'd like. You can then pay, manage and update all from your profile page in ALL ABOUT YOU.
You can also choose just to register as an advertiser however, this means that you won't have access to the rest of the site, but once registered you'll be taken to your own profile page where again you can pay, manage and update your adverts for inclusion in the BOOK OF GEMS - Hidden Gems.
